CD Castellón women expand to 11 teams as Iván Ausina steps up | OneFootball

CD Castellón have set out a renewed plan for their women’s programme, centred on academy growth and a clear pathway to the senior side.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the club approaches the new season with excitement, ambition and responsibility, and will align all levels under one methodology to develop players on and off the pitch.

The main drive is in the grassroots. This season the club will field 11 women’s teams, one more than last term after adding a youth side. The intention is to deliver quality coaching from the earliest ages and bring prospects closer to the senior squad over time.

There is also a change in the dugout. After falling just short of promotion to Segunda Federación last season, Iván Ausina replaces Alberto Berman as head coach, with the team aiming to challenge near the top again.

Ausina worked as Berman’s assistant last year and now steps up to lead from the touchline. The majority of the backroom staff remain in place, considered key to continued growth and to consolidating a clear playing identity.
