Éverton Cebolinha has not featured for Flamengo for one month, with his exit next season confirmed and his immediate future still unclear. According to Globo.com, he slipped down Leonardo Jardim’s pecking order after saying he would not renew his contract.
His last outing came in the 1-1 draw with São Paulo at the Maracanã on 26 July. He has since missed six matches, initially sidelined by flu symptoms, and is now fit but not selected.
Cebolinha was close to joining Krasnodar in Russia during this window, but obstacles scuppered a deal. He is eligible to sign a pre-contract and Flamengo continue to keep him as part of the squad.
In Brazil, Fluminense and Corinthians explored a move, then pulled back after learning of the forward’s salary.
The player’s representatives are expected to keep searching for options as the window nears its end. He remains in first-team training and available to Jardim.
Cebolinha said in February that the board had not approached him over an extension. Signed from Benfica in 2022, he is in his fifth season and has 190 appearances, 21 goals and 25 assists for the Rio club.
