Everton Cebolinha is into his final months at Flamengo, with his contract running until the end of 2026 and the club not planning a renewal. Amid exit talk, the forward has set out his ideal next step.

According to ESPN, his preference is to return to European football, having previously played for Benfica between 2020 and 2022, while Brazil and Saudi Arabia are seen as secondary options.

He held talks over a move to Krasnodar in this window, but the deal was dropped after the Russian club’s president blocked the signing.

Flamengo signed Cebolinha in June 2022 for about 14 million euros, R$ 88 million at the time, from Benfica. He has since made 191 appearances, scoring 21 goals with 25 assists.

He has collected nine trophies with the club, namely two Libertadores in 2022 and 2025, two Copas do Brasil in 2022 and 2024, one Brasileirão in 2025, the 2025 Supercopa do Brasil and three Cariocas from 2023 to 2025.

Cebolinha has not featured for more than a month. His last outing was the 1-1 draw with São Paulo on 26 July in Brasileirão round 20.

Since then Flamengo have played six times across the league and the Libertadores in 2026, with coach Leonardo Jardim not calling on him. The player is seeking an agreement with a new club to depart.
