Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has heaped praise on Dillan Solomons, who caught the eye with his performances before the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hiatus.
The 29-year-old right-back was the preferred starter for Amakhosi in the last few outings of 2025, and has made a total of nine appearances across all competitions this season.
Solomons particularly impressed in the CAF Confederation Cup, scoring once and forcing a last-gasp own goal in the draw against Egyptian heavyweights Zamalek SC, much to the delight of Kaze.
“Actually I was joking with him that he might finish as the top goal scorer of the CAF Confederation Cup if he keeps at it. But it's very good, it's a player that has had some tough moments a few months ago, where he wasn't playing much,” said the Burundian tactician.
"But since the game against Kabuscorp, the second game - he's a player that shows hunger, he shows commitment and he drives the team forward and he gives you solutions.
"And another thing I am so happy with him [about] is that he has improved immensely in his defensive demeanor and even in 1v1 he's a player that is always good and hard work pays off all the time.
Notably, Solomons' contract at Naturena is set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, having signed for the Soweto giants in June 2022.
