Albert Celades has placed Suso on the fringes at Cádiz, leaving the 32-year-old five-cap Spain international facing an uncertain future as the club works on a departure.
According to Superdeporte, the winger rejoined his boyhood club last summer on a free after finishing the season at Sevilla, turning down richer proposals from abroad yet still sitting among Cádiz’s highest earners. His output has underwhelmed and the hierarchy are pushing to move him on.
Valencia explored a move in the 2025 winter window. Elmas was virtually agreed before rejecting the club, and a Plan B for Suso was also close but fell apart over late details. He stayed at Sevilla, then joined Cádiz on a free months later.
Suso, a Cádiz academy graduate, first left for Liverpool and later played in England, Italy and Spain. Sevilla paid 22 million euros to sign him permanently from Milan in 2020.
Since Celades’ arrival, Suso has had only a few late minutes in the most recent match. The coach has said the situation is complex and not pleasant, and that such cases will run until the final day of the window.
