Celta Vigo ask Madonna about 1990 shirt and invite her to Balaídos tribute | OneFootball

Celta Vigo have asked Madonna if she still has the club shirt she wore on stage at Abanca Balaídos in 1990, and invited the 67-year-old to a pre-match tribute this Friday.

The club said in a statement that it has asked the singer to confirm whether she still owns the shirt and to attend a short tribute at 20:45 on Friday 6 March, before Celta v Real Madrid.

On 29 July 1990, Madonna performed at a packed Balaídos in Vigo, wearing the club’s sky blue and white shirt of the time, colours that remain today.

Club president Marian Mourino Terrazo has posted a letter on the club’s social channels, reflecting that the image of Madonna in Celta colours has become part of the club’s story beyond the pitch and aligns with challenging established norms, an idea the club recognises.

The letter frames the search for the shirt as an act of memory and a symbol of Celta’s emotional heritage. Madonna has not yet responded. A genuine football fan who supports one of her children in Tottenham’s academy, she has been asked to contact the club via private message, DM.
