Matias Vecino could leave Lazio on deadline day, with Celta Vigo working on a move for the second half of the season.

According to The Laziali, negotiations are under way between the clubs, with no agreement yet, and Lazio are open to releasing the player under certain conditions.

The Uruguayan has spent most of his career in Serie A. He arrived at Fiorentina in 2013, represented Cagliari, Empoli and Inter, then joined Lazio in the summer of 2022.

Though not always a starter, he has been a key squad figure. His role has gradually diminished, and his physical powers have waned with the years. He signed a one-year extension last June with an option for a second, but is unlikely to stay beyond this season.

Lazio have reshaped their midfield, selling Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce and bringing in Kenneth Taylor from Ajax and Polish teenager Adrian Przyborek from Pogon.

Reda Belahyane is seemingly heading back to Hellas Verona. A Vecino departure could open the door for another arrival before the deadline.
