Fer Lopez’s future at Wolves is unclear after an improved loan back at Celta Vigo, with the £19m winger enjoying a better spell on his return.
Signed from Celta last summer, the young winger made 12 appearances in all competitions for Wolves, with only two Premier League starts and two in the EFL Cup, before repeated links to a January loan.
A late-window deal took him back to Celta. He scored a superb outside-of-the-foot strike in the Europa League and has featured 20 times, scoring twice, while helping them into next season’s Conference League spots as they still push for a Europa League place.
Celta sporting director Marco Garces said: “From our perspective, it’s up to us to make every possible effort. To try and find those options, get creative, and explore possibilities until the summer is over.” He was speaking to DAZN.
Wolves are set for a summer clear-out as they rebuild for life in the Championship, so Lopez could yet move on from Molineux. He signed a five-year deal on arrival, with four years remaining.
