Celtic FC Women will kick off their defence of the SWPL title at Paradise!

It was earlier today confirmed that the Women’s Scottish Champions’ opening league game of the season against Dundee United will be played at Celtic Park on Saturday, 10 August, with a 1pm kick-off.

The season opener was originally scheduled to take place at the Excelsior but fans will now have the chance to cheer on Elena Sadiku’s squad at Paradise for the first ever flag day for Celtic FC Women.

The last time Celtic Women were in action was that historic day at Celtic Park when Amy Gallacher secured the league title with a composed strike in the dying embers of the season’s final match. It was an incredible day for the 7000 Celtic supporters and no doubt this one will be as well, with a much larger crowd expected to cheer on our Championship winning women’s team.

If you have purchased a Celtic FC Women season ticket for the upcoming campaign, don’t worry as this game is included in your ticket. The club have stated that they will issue these supporters tickets in due course.

Full ticket details will be released by the club shortly and a large crowd would no doubt give the Ghirls that additional boost as they get their title defence underway.

Let’s get behind Elena Sadiku and her title winning team and also give all the new signing an early taste of Paradise so they’ll all understand the size and the magnificence of the club that they have joined this summer.
