Celtic left Ibrox with a point and a new song taken from the Rangers

There’s been some hysteria whipped due to a hateful banner displayed by theRangers supporters prior to kick off in Sunday’s Glasgow derby at Ibrox.
The display which was clearly aimed at the Celtic supporters and deemed worthy of a police investigation, plus condemnation by an Ibrox club (seeking investment) has become one of the main focal point in Sunday’s rather drab end of season dead-rubber draw.
This has created a siege mentality attitude among the Ibrox supporters who have been repeatedly sharing the image loud and proud on social media. The much maligned ultras the Union Bears have even cashed in on the gullibility of their fellow supporters by creating and shifting merchandise referencing the Tifo, which Sandman yesterday described perfectly.

This is all buoyed by the fact that they firmly believe that it gave them one up on the Celtic supporters and that we are somehow ‘offended’ by the display. When in reality it was their own club who seemed to take most notice, so much so that they were quick to condemn it, most likely afraid of the reaction from the ‘potential’ new owners who certainly do not share the same ‘cultural background’ as the Ibrox bigots.

The truth is that the Celtic supporters were too busy enjoying a rounding rendition of our new song Simply the Best in honour of Scotlands Champions as the two teams entered the pitch. We couldn’t give a hoot about their banner, we were too busy enjoying ourselves before and after the game to take any notice never mind take offence.

The only surprise was that it wasn’t the Green Brigade who displayed the banner (upside down) as they seemed to have all the other Onion Bears banners in the their possession and on display (upside down) in the 2000 strong Celtic End at Ibrox where 1999 were magnificent and one idiot embarrassed the Hoops and has paid the penalty losing his job. The exception proves the rule.
Bet his wife is less than happy about his antics at the weekend and the consequences.
Celtic now have three matches to play, two at Celtic Park including Trophy Day when we get the Scottish Premiership trophy for the 13th time in 14 seasons, as we prepare for the Scottish Cup Final on 24 May at Hampden against Aberdeen as Brendan Rodgers and his squad look to win the cup to complete another treble.
For theRangers they’ll just be Simply Depressed because as the Celtic support noted on Sunday, The Blue Room is Bare, There’re No Trophies There. Maybe they could take their Saint-Étienne bike for a spin? Even that’s green and white.
