Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston is reportedly open to joining Everton this summer.

Everton are interested in bringing the Hoops star to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Toffees manager David Moyes identifying the Canadian as a replacement for Seamus Coleman.

Johnston has spent the last four seasons in the Scottish Premiership and a move to the Premier League appeals to him.

The 27-year-old was with Canada at the World Cup, featuring in all their five appearances at the tournament.

The Everton target will fancy his chances of impressing on Merseyside and could be the perfect successor to Coleman.

Johnston is an incredible passer who also knows how to hold on to the ball.

He has bagged seven goals and 24 assists in 122 games for Celtic, and the Toffees could do with his attacking qualities in the final third.

The Hoops star also brings much-needed experience to the table and Moyes will be keen to work with such a player in his defence.

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Djed Spence has also been linked with Everton, but nothing has materialised so far as the England international also has other suitors.

The Toffees are also reportedly keen on West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka following the Hammers’ relegation to the Championship.

Moyes wants a natural right-back after playing Jake O’Brien out of position last season, and more names could emerge in the coming weeks.
