Celtic have struck a last-minute deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jeremy Toljan.
The defender joins on a deal until the end of the season.
Toljan was part of the Germany squad that won the U-21 Euros just 18 months ago.
However, his move to Dortmund has not worked out. After making 18 Bundesliga appearances last season, Toljan has not featured this season under new boss Lucien Favre.
Comfortable at either right-back or left-back, the 24-year-old should be a valuable addition to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
“This is an exciting move for me and I’m delighted to be joining a club like Celtic, which has a great reputation throughout Europe,” Toljan told the club’s official website.
“I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and working with the manager, and I’ll be doing everything I can to help the team to be successful in the remainder of this season.”
