The iconic six-a-side tournament will return to Scottish football at Braehead Arena on October 3 and 4, with all 12 Premiership clubs represented by former players and legends.
Celtic confirmed their involvement in a club statement, with the Hoops drawn in Group C alongside Rangers, Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
Unlike the original competition, this year’s tournament will feature former stars rather than members of the current first-team squads, although Celtic have yet to reveal which ex-players will pull on the Hoops jersey.
Several features of the original Tennent’s Sixes will also return, including the sin bin, while drawn matches will be decided by penalties.
Celtic have some history in the competition, having lifted the trophy for the first and only time on January 20, 1992.
The Hoops defeated St Johnstone 4-2 in the final at the SECC to claim the title.
They returned for the final edition of the original tournament the following year, topping their group before suffering a 4-3 semi-final defeat to Airdrie.
More than three decades later, the popular competition is now set for a comeback, with Celtic supporters awaiting confirmation of which former favourites will represent the club at Braehead.
