Fussball Transfers reports that Celtic are making a strong push to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Niels Nkounkou, seeking a quick deal to derail OGC Nice's pursuit.
Nice are understood to have already reached an agreement with the 25-year-old, but would only complete the move once Melvin Bard's departure is confirmed, the report said.

With that transfer on hold, the Glasgow club is looking to capitalise on the hesitation.
Nkounkou joined Frankfurt in August 2023 for €7.5million and is now considered surplus to requirements at the Hessen club.
In 2025-26 the French defender made 14 appearances on loan at Torino, providing one assist.
