Celtic Team News

Alistair Johnston remains on the sidelines for the hosts due to a hamstring problem, though the Canadian defender has recently made a return to solo training sessions. Jota is also ruled out for the foreseeable future with a significant knee injury.

There’s mounting pressure on Kasper Schmeichel following a string of recent missteps, the latest during the Europa League outing against Braga. Similarly, Kieran Tierney’s starting position could be under review as Brendan Rodgers weighs up his defensive options.

Up front, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to lead the line again after an impressive showing against Braga, when he found the net only for the goal to be controversially disallowed after a VAR check.

Celtic’s form has been somewhat patchy since their disappointing exit from the Champions League. However, the Hoops are still undefeated in the league and will be determined to rediscover their winning touch on home soil, especially given their strong track record at Celtic Park after European matches.

Celtic Predicted Lineup

Possible Celtic starting xi: Schmeichel; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Saracchi; Nygren, McGregor, Hatate; Maeda, Iheanacho, Tounekti.

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 3pm BST on Sunday, 5th October.
