Highly-rated Celtic youngster Zion Pullan has made his debut for the club’s B team at just 15 years old…

The teenage attacker was handed his first start by Stevie Hammell as Celtic travelled to face East Kilbride in matchday four of the KDM Trophy league phase.

The young Hoops looked set to claim an impressive victory against the Scottish League One side before a 93rd-minute equaliser denied them all three points in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

Pullan was the headline inclusion in Celtic’s starting XI, particularly amid recent speculation surrounding his future.

Primarily deployed as a winger throughout the youth ranks, the youngster was instead used through the middle against East Kilbride, with Calvin Keenan operating from the left.

It was Keenan who stole the show during the opening half, scoring two brilliantly-taken goals after impressive pieces of attacking play from wide areas.

Summer signing Shea McGarry, the 17-year-old centre-back recruited from Cliftonville, also impressed alongside midfielder Conor Daly.

Celtic’s third goal came through Rhys Dargie, who is currently on loan at East Kilbride but was permitted to feature for his parent club under the KDM Trophy’s rules.

Pullan had a relatively quiet evening leading the line and found it difficult to impose himself physically against the more experienced East Kilbride defence, but his B team bow represents another significant step in his rapid development.

The 15-year-old has attracted considerable attention after scoring a remarkable 58 goals across Celtic’s U15 and U17 sides last season.

Pullan, who received a youth call-up from Spain earlier this year, has recently been linked with Barcelona and Athletic Club, with his birthplace of Tudela making him eligible to represent the Bilbao side.

The highly-rated prospect also changed agents this week amid the growing transfer speculation surrounding him.

Pullan does not turn 16 until February, making his first appearance at B team level another notable milestone for one of Celtic’s most exciting academy prospects.
