Team’s Up – Donovan misses out on Scotland team but Welsh starts | OneFootball

Sébastien Pocognoli has named his Scotland team for his first game in charge. The Belgian manager takes charge as Scotland kickoff their Nations League campaign against Slovenia.

The first game – that takes place in Ljubljana – is one of four during the extended international break, Scotland also face Switzerland at home, North Macedonia away and Slovenia at home.

Angus Gunn starts in goals.

A back three starts with Stephen Welsh earning his first cap. The ex-Celtic defender has gone from strength to strength since leaving the Scottish Champions and form with Motherwell and Swansea has was as him a place in the team. Welsh starts with Jack Hendry and Scott McKenna.

In what looks like a midfield five, Andy Robertson and Aaron Hickey are deployed as wingbacks with Billy Gilmour, John McGinn and Lewis Ferguson in the middle of the park.

In attack, Sevilla’s Robbie Ure leads the line with Oli McBurnie.
