Celtic and Partick Thistle will clash in the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup this Sunday at Firhill Stadium.
Both teams are eager to claim a spot in the semi-finals, with Celtic aiming to retain the trophy they won last season by defeating Rangers on penalties.
Despite some off-field distractions, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is keeping his focus on their League Cup defence. The Hoops earned their place in this round with a commanding 4-1 win against Falkirk, highlighted by multiple goal scorers, including a memorable first goal from Dane Murray.
Injury concerns persist for Celtic, as key players remain sidelined. Alistair Johnston is currently recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up in the match against Kairat Almaty but is reportedly ahead of schedule in his comeback. Anthony Ralston and Auston Trusty are also progressing well in their rehabilitation and are expected back in training next week, although they won’t be available for the upcoming game.
The recent addition to the squad, Kelechi Iheanacho, has made a promising start by netting a decisive 96th-minute penalty against Kilmarnock on his debut, adding much-needed attacking options following Celtic’s late transfer dealings.
Celtic predicted XI: Sinisalo; Donovan, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Saracchi; Engels, McGregor, McCowan; Forrest, Iheanacho, Tounekti.
Sunday 21st September, 2025. Kick-off is 15:30 BST.
The match will be shown live on subscription channel Premier Sports 1 with coverage starting at 3pm
