The Croatian has been linked with a move to the Hoops throughout the summer, with the latest bid on the table in Spain widely attributed to the Scottish champions.
However, Spanish journalist Rafa León claims Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez has now clarified that Celtic did NOT submit the proposal.
León wrote: “Miguel Ángel Ramírez confirms that Celtic have not bid for Dinko Horkas. But there is a team that has offered €4m, while UD have asked for €5m. And they want it in a single payment, not paid over several years.”
The confusion emerged following comments from Ramírez earlier this month when he revealed Las Palmas had rejected a €4m offer which would have been paid over four years.
The original EFE report did not name the interested club, although a subsequent Spanish report inserted “Celtic Glasgow” alongside the president’s remarks, leading to the proposal being attributed to the Hoops.
Horkas remains a reported Celtic target despite the clarification, with conflicting reports previously suggesting the Premiership champions had made approaches for the 27-year-old.
But if Ramírez’s latest comments are accurate, the €4m bid currently under consideration did not come from Celtic.
