Celtic's Engels and Jashari of AC Milan seen as Reitz alternatives for Leipzig | OneFootball

If RB Leipzig's pursuit of Mönchengladbach's Rocco Reitz doesn't work out, two alternatives have been lined up in preparation.

According to Sky Germany's sources, Leipzig is considering Celtic's Arne Engels and Ardon Jashari from AC Milan.

Both Engels and Jashari are on their shortlist for the central midfield position, however, the priority still remains Rocco Reitz.

Engels, formerly represented FC Augsburg before moving to Celtic in 2024. The Belgian has 5 goals and 4 assists in 33 games this season.

Meanwhile, Swiss midfielder Jashari moved from Club Brugge last summer but has only played 367 minutes for the Rossoneri.

The Saxony club is believed to be exploring several other options in central midfield while monitoring the development of both players. 

Engels is valued considerably cheaper at around €10million compared to Jashari's €32million valuation on Transfermarkt.com.
