The point we gained in Bergamo back in October was a very decent result. To go to the home of the free scoring Europa League holders and not only gain a point, but shut them out completely was a wonderful team performance.
That result is looking more impressive with each passing week as the Italian side go from strength to strength. Last night they traveled to Switzerland and hammered Young Boys by six goals to one. That was their seventh match since we held them to a stalemate and they have won each and every one of those games scoring 24 goals in the process!
They currently sit second in Serie A while sitting in an impressive fourth in the Champions League standings. Scoring an impressive 45 goals in just 18 games across the two competitions.
The very fact Celtic went to Bergamo and came away unscathed is a testament to our very own ability and one that we should be extremely proud of, especially after what happened in Dortmund.

Brendan has reinvented our entire side this season as the players have quite obviously bought into his strategy. The manager wants us to compete at this level, and that performance in Bergamo shows we can hold our own at the very top. Belief is massive at the elite level in football and that’s what we came away from Bergamo with and since then we’ve never looked back.
