Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Cesar Peixoto has dropped a fresh update of the Old Gold's transfer business

Wolverhampton Wanderers have undergone a slow start to the summer transfer window following their return to the Championship for the first time in over eight years, but head coach Cesar Peixoto has looked to calm some nerves around Molineux with a fresh update.

Wolves' summer started chaotically, with both Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez joining the club, only for previous boss Rob Edwards to be sacked shortly after in surprising circumstances.

His replacement, Cesar Peixoto, has only made one addition thus far after over a month at the club, that being the £7.7 million capture of Comoros forward Rafiki Said from Belgian side Standard Liege.

Old Gold supporters would surely have been hoping for more movement at this stage, and as unrest has begun to intensify around the fanbase, Peixoto has dropped an update on the club's dealings in the market.

With it having been rather quiet around Molineux for the past month or so, at least in terms of incomings, Wolves supporters will have been growing increasingly restless with the lack of action by the club.

Following relegation, additions are a necessity, though they may take solace in the fact that both fellow relegated sides, West Ham United and Burnley, have also been especially quiet in the window thus far.

Now, Peixoto has recognised the unrest and decided to address the situation, saying: "There’s going to be changes, the market is delayed and we try to manage the situation.

"Some players will go out, some players will come. We're going to change a lot, but me, Matt and Nathan, we know what we are doing.

"We know what we need for the squad. Some things are going to happen; the market was delayed because of the World Cup. We know what we need, we know what we are doing, but the moment is the players I have to work with and I'm happy with them.

"The team works well, works hard, and has a good team spirit also. I think it's important to look at these players and find the solutions we want to improve the team.

I’m not frustrated because I have to manage the situation. I'm happy with these players, I'm happy with the improvement of the team. But me, as a coach, I want to close the team as soon as possible.

"It's normal. All the coaches want to close the team on the first day, but it's not possible because of the market. But I believe in the people I work with and I believe in what we are doing in the club and in the team.

"I think we're going to find the right solutions to improve the team and have a good season."

Following Peixoto's update, Wolves supporters have no choice but to trust in him and the club to get things right before the end of the window.

With less than two weeks before their opening Championship game at home to Blackburn Rovers, Old Gold fans will be hoping for one or two more additions at the very least.

With each of Matt Doherty, Joao Gomes, and Toluwase Arokodare having left the club, that need for replacements will have only intensified, something Wolves supporters will be more than aware of.

Ahead of a huge campaign, in which promotion will be the primary aim, fans are looking for something to get excited about, and one or two fresh faces through the doors would likely do the trick.

After years under this ownership regime, Wolves supporters have lost faith in their ability to deliver on their promises, and until they are able to do so, Peixoto's words are nothing but words.

This Wolves fan has taken to the defence of Peixoto and the club's hierarchy, pointing out that signings cannot be rushed in for the sake of it, and each addition must be right for the club.
