Cesar Peixoto puts 4 Wolves players up for sale | OneFootball

Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto is ready to let Ki-Jana Hoever, Boubacar Traore, Hwang Hee-chan and Sasa Kalajdzic leave Molineux this summer.

Wolves have had a surprisingly slow start to the transfer window after their embarrassing relegation from the Premier League last season.

The manner of the Old Gold’s last-placed finish understandably angered the supporters, and the fans were pleased that chairman Jeff Shi paid the price for his mismanagement by losing his job midway through the campaign.

Nathan Shi, who is no relation, was named as his successor, and whilst he talked up the possibility of an overhaul this summer, it hasn’t really happened so far.

Kieran Trippier, Raul Jimenez and Rafiki Said have joined the club, and Joao Gomes has been the major outgoing so far, as he joined Aston Villa.

So, there’s still a lot of business to do in the remainder of the window, and it could be a very busy period at Molineux.

And, in a fresh development, Telegraph journalist John Percy has revealed that Cesar Peixoto is ready to sanction the exits for FOUR senior players who are currently part of his squad…

The 24-year-old is starting his sixth year as a Wolves player, but it’s fair to say he is one of the many signings in recent years that did not work out.

With Trippier, Jackson Tchatchoua and Pedro Lima at the club, Hoever is the fourth-choice right-back, and it’s clear he has no future at the club.

The reality is that he would’ve been on the market all summer, so the fact there have been no takers so far is a major concern, although you would expect Wolves to come to an agreement with the player and a club before the deadline.

Boubacar Traore

Unlike Hoever, Peixoto has given Traore a chance in pre-season, and midfield is something of a problem position for Wolves right now.

However, the Mali international seemingly hasn’t impressed, and he struggled in the recent win over Doncaster, where he got caught in possession several times.

So, Traore may not be suited to Peixoto’s style of play, and it was telling that he didn’t make the squad against Port Vale in the League Cup, even with those issues in the centre of the park.

With the club hoping to sign a new midfielder, Traore has no future at the club, so a move would suit all parties this summer.

Hwang Hee-chan

The forward featured regularly for Wolves in the Premier League over the years, and whilst he had some decent moments, including a positive season under Gary O’Neil, Hwang is not a popular figure among the fan base.

Some will argue whether that’s fair, but a fresh start is needed for the player, who, at 30, could get a big deal elsewhere at this stage of his career.

Hwang is another who hasn’t featured for Peixoto in pre-season, but he did arrive late after South Korea’s involvement in the World Cup.

Even with Wolves short on options out wide in attack, Peixoto appears to have made his mind up on Hwang, and most fans won’t be too sad to see him go in the window.

This is perhaps the only surprising name on the list, as supporters were hoping to see Kalajdzic get a chance after he starred out on loan in Austria with LASK last season, helping them to a historic league and cup double.

As well as that, he contributed for his country at the World Cup, scoring a dramatic late goal that took them to the knockout rounds.

With his height and ability to play with his back to goal, Kalajdzic does offer something different, so he could’ve been a useful option off the bench, especially if Wolves were chasing a goal.

But, Kalajdzic’s injury record is a major worry, and there will be doubts about his ability to cope with the demands of the Championship. So, Peixoto is ready to let him leave, but Wolves will need a new third-choice striker to boost the squad, and that may not be easy to find.
