Cesar Peixoto says Rafiki Said’s arrival can help Wolves build a big family and push to return to the Premier League. The winger is his first signing since succeeding Rob Edwards.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Said became Wolves’ third summer addition after a £7.7million move from Belgian side Standard Liege, signing a three-year contract with an option of a further year.
Peixoto views the attacker as a rapid, one v one threat who fits a team-first approach. He believes Said has the strength, speed and mentality to adapt quickly, improve the side and help win games.
He also stressed the need for internal competition alongside Mane and Rodrigo, arguing that solutions and challenges within the squad are vital to raising standards.
Said wanted to join as soon as possible and, in Peixoto’s view, is humble, hardworking and hungry to succeed at Wolves. The head coach said the player’s mentality matches what he expects.
The signing was completed in time for the Portugal pre-season camp, which Peixoto considers important for integration. Early arrivals, he added, give staff longer to embed ideas and help players learn the team and environment.
