Cesc Fabregas named Serie A coach of the year, Federico Dimarco best player | OneFootball

Cesc Fabregas of Côme was named Serie A coach of the year at the Gran Gala del Calcio on Wednesday, with Inter’s Federico Dimarco recognised as the best player.

According to L'Équipe, the ceremony is the Italian equivalent of the UNFP awards.

Fabregas, a 2010 World Cup winner with Spain, retired in 2023 and immediately took charge of Côme, then in Serie B.

After promotion to the top flight and a comfortable survival, he guided the Lombard club to fourth last season, sealing a first ever Champions League qualification.

Côme’s season also brought individual recognition for Argentine playmaker Nico Paz, 22, who was named best young player after returning 12 goals and six assists last season.

He delivered a brilliant season for Inter, producing seven goals and 18 assists from wing-back.
