MIAMI — The 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Quarterfinals saw Vancouver Whitecaps FC advance to its first semifinals in club history with contributions from it’s On the Rise player Édier Ocampo.
The 21-year-old right-back was key in helping the reigning Canadian Championship winners take a 3-3 draw on aggregate, to advance on away goals, against three-time Champions Cup winners Pumas UNAM.
Ocampo played every minute of the series, contributing two key passes, four tackles, and one foul won. The Colombian also provided an 85.7% passing accuracy in the first leg at home, and an 86.2% accuracy in the second leg in Mexico City.
Whitecaps FC will meet fellow MLS side Inter Miami CF in the semifinals, hosting the first leg on Thursday, April 24, at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The second leg is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
