Real Madrid thrashed Monaco, Arsenal extended their flawless run and major results reshaped the Champions League standings on Tuesday.

The Champions League returned on Tuesday with the opening matches of Matchday 7 in the league phase producing goals and drama across Europe.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid delivered statement performance with crushing 6-1 victory over Monaco. Kylian Mbappe struck twice early scoring in the 5th & 26th minutes to put the hosts firmly in control.

Young midfielder Franco Mastantuono added the third goal in the 51st minute extending Madrid’s dominance.

Monaco’s problems deepened when Thilo Kehrer turned the ball into his own net in the 55 minute. Vinicius Junior made it five eight minute later before Jordan pulled one back for the visitors in the 72 minute. Jude Bellingham completed the rout in the 80th minute.

The win lifted Real Madrid to 15 point in third place while Monaco remained on nine points in 21st position.

Arsenal Keep Winning in Milan

At the Giuseppe Meazza, Arsenal continued their perfect Champions League campaign with 3-1 win over Inter Milan. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 10 minute but Petar Sucic quickly equalised for Inter eight minute later.

Jesus restored Arsenal’s lead in the 30 minute showing sharp finishing inside the box. The Gunners sealed the victory late on when Viktor Gyokeres scored in the 84 minute confirming another dominant European display.

Arsenal now sit top of the table with perfect record of seven win from seven matches and 21 point while Inter stayed on 12 point in ninth place.

Tottenham, Ajax and Sporting Claim Key Wins

In London Tottenham Hotspur secured comfortable 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Cristian Romero scored early in the 14 minute before Dominic Solanke doubled the lead in the 37 minute to seal the win.

Meanwhile Ajax Amsterdam earned dramatic 2-1 away victory against Villarreal. After Tani Oluwaseyi gave the Spanish side the lead in the 49 minute, Oscar Gloukh equalised from free kick in the 61 minute.

Substitute Oliver Edvardsen struck the winner in the 90 minute keeping Ajax’s qualification hopes alive.

The Dutch side recorded their second consecutive win after losing their first five matches while Villarreal were officially eliminated having collected just one point.

Sporting Edge PSG in Lisbon Thriller

At the Jose Alvalade Stadium, Sporting Lisbon defeated Paris Saint Germain 2-1 in dramatic encounter. Luis Suarez opened the scoring in the 74 minute before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia equalised for PSG five minute later.

Deep into stoppage time, Suarez struck again in the 90 minute heading home the winner to secure three vital point. Sporting moved up to sixth place with 13 point while PSG also stayed on 13 point sitting fifth on goal difference.

With one round remaining Arsenal already secured first place in the standings. Meanwhile Real Madrid's rise to second place with 15 point guarantees them direct qualification for the round of 16..

Behind them clubs like Inter, PSG and Sporting remain separated by narrow margins meaning the final matchday will decide who advances directly who enters the play offs and who is eliminated from Europe.
