FC Bayern Munich celebrated its 35th championship this Sunday. As usual, the team and fans celebrated together on Marienplatz. However, the championship celebration almost had to take place without the championship trophy. How did this happen?

After the 5:1 victory in the last Bundesliga match of the 25/26 season, Bayern celebrated the championship win yesterday. After the celebrations in the stadium, the team went to an internal party at Nockherberg, where they continued to celebrate together with family, friends, employees and invited guests. When coach Vincent Kompany left the party, he also took the trophy home with him.

What doesn’t sound too bad at first almost ended in a championship celebration without the trophy, because Kompany forgot that he had the trophy at home and therefore forgot to bring it back to the reception at the town hall. He apparently only noticed his mishap when he and the team had already arrived at the town hall.

„We were here and then the championship trophy was missing and then I remembered that it was at my house, I completely forgot about it. It was in the kitchen or something,“ explained Kompany with a big grin on his face.

Luckily, Kompany was able to rely on his wife Carla, who came to the rescue, retrieved the bowl from the kitchen and brought it to the town hall just in time. The FC Bayern livestream showed how some police officers finally carried the trophy into the town hall so that the team could celebrate together with the fans and the bowl.
