In a recent post on X, journalist Sacha Tavolieri mentioned that Chelsea have agreed on a deal to land Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara. It has been claimed that the Blues have reached an agreement on a €45m deal (including bonuses) for the Senegalese midfield ace this summer.

Camara’s Rapid Rise In Ligue 1

Camara enjoyed a good run of form at the French club in the previous campaign when he produced a series of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 22-year-old registered three goals and picked up four assists in 31 matches for Monaco last season in multiple competitions.

The Senegalese talent is currently among the most gifted central midfielders in Ligue 1. Hence, it is no wonder that the Blues have opted to strike a deal for him this month.

Camara is under contract at Monaco until the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Chelsea to land him on a cut-price deal in this transfer period.

What Will Camara Add To Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso’s Side?

Camara loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well from midfield.

The Senegalese youngster can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. Camara is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder if needed. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to sign him in this transfer period.

We can expect Camara to add more quality and depth to Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield department in the long run. He is already good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge.

At 22, Camara has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, Chelsea would be wise to try everything in their power to lure him to England before the end of this month. However, Alonso has to give him some time to adjust to life at the London club before he can get the best out of him.
