In a recent report, journalist Wayne Veysey stated that Chelsea are showing interest in Sunderland keeper Robin Roefs. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Dutch goalie, but would have to rival Liverpool and Man City in pursuit of him this summer.

Roefs is having a solid campaign at the Wearside club as he has produced a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 23-year-old has made 30 appearances for Sunderland this season, conceding 35 goals and earning nine clean sheets in the process across multiple competitions.

The Dutch talent is currently one of the most gifted keepers in the Premier League. Thus, it is no wonder that the Blues are showing interest in recruiting him in this upcoming transfer window.

His current contract at the Stadium of Light will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Chelsea to land him on a cut-price deal at the end of this campaign.

Should Chelsea Boss Liam Rosenior Get Roefs On Board?

Roefs is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make a few impressive saves at the back for his team. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and can use his strong 1.93m frame to dominate his penalty area.

The Dutch sensation is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the West London club. Hence, he would be an ideal choice for the Blues to consider in this upcoming transfer window.

We can expect Roefs to add more quality to Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior’s backline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West London club.

At 23, Roefs has got his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Blues to consider in the upcoming summer transfer window. With all things considered, Rosenior would be wise to go all out to get him on board later this year as long as he can sign him for a reasonable fee.
