One Chelsea backup player is apparently desperate to get some minutes, with his place at the World Cup now under threat.

The summer is now fast approaching as we get towards the midway point of another Premier League season and about to head into 2026.

And 2026 means another World Cup, this time over in the USA in the summer at the end of this season.

The World Cup is the best competition you can play in as a player, there will be no better experience playing in it. Players literally dream for this kind of moment, and said moment is approaching for many players.

But we are now getting towards squeaky bum time for many players as well, because countries can only take a certain amount of players, and not everyone can go.

Jorgensen’s place under threat

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is not playing at all for Chelsea right now, being a firm backup option only. And this is apparently detrimental to his World Cup chances.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Jorgensen is itching to play after being told by Denmark that he needs to get game time if he is to represent them at next summer’s World Cup. The upcoming January transfer window could be interesting for Jorgensen.
