Chelsea confirm Pep Chavarria signing from Rayo Vallecano on five-year deal

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of left-back Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano.

Sky Sports reports the 28-year-old joins for €19 million, with add-ons worth two million euros. He has signed a five-year contract until 2031.

Chavarria enjoyed a strong campaign with the Madrid club, scoring one and supplying three assists. He helped Rayo reach the Conference League final, which they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace.

He becomes Chelsea’s 11th arrival of the summer window as they continue to reinforce their defence. The Blues have already added Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra and Denner.

Chavarria provides cover on the left after Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid.
