Chelsea are at the ‘front of the queue’ in the race to sign Alex Scott from Bournemouth.

Scott is set to be subject of renewed interest from leading Premier League clubs in the upcoming transfer windows, after Bournemouth rejected bids for the midfielder in the summer. Chelsea had a £64m offer turned down in the summer window and remain keen to get a deal done.

Scott has made his first international appearances during the current break and impressed as England thrashed Croatia 7-0 on Saturday evening.

The 22-year-old’s stock continues to rise and Chelsea are pushing to get a deal done for Scott, ahead of the summer.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are ‘front of the queue’ for Scott, despite competition from Liverpool. Scott played under Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola on the South Coast, before the ex-Bournemouth manager’s appointment at Anfield in June.

Chelsea view Scott as the ideal replacement for Enzo Fernandez, following the Argentine’s £125m move to Manchester City on deadline day. The Blues failed to sign a replacement in time, as a late move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara collapsed in the final hours of the window.
