Chelsea have entered into negotiations Strasbourg over a move for attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman.

According to The Athletic, the Englishman will move to France on a permanent basis.

Chelsea will include a buy-back clause in the deal that will take the 20-year-old to sister club Strasbourg.

Kellyman enjoyed a successful 2025-26 season on loan in League One, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists for Cardiff City.

The former Aston Villa youngster was among the players assessed by manager Xabi Alonso in pre-season this summer, appearing twice in their Asian tour.

Kellyman has been at Chelsea since 2024, having joined in a £20 million deal from Aston Villa.

He endured a difficult first season due to injuries before heading out on loan last term.

The Blues are unwilling to allow him use up another one of their limited loan slots, hence the decision to let him leave permanently.

He will be the third player to swap London for Strasbourg this summer, with goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and full-back Genesis Antwi having joined them on loan.

Kellyman will be a quality addition to the Strasbourg squad after a season in which they missed out on European football and reached the UEFA Conference League semi-final.

The youngster is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a shadow striker due to his keen goalscoring instincts.
