Chelsea are apparently showing interest now in a second Rennes player, as well as the public attempts to sign their centre back.

You all know the story here. The one big deal Chelsea have been trying to get done this winter transfer window of course is signing centre back Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes. However, that looks to have reached a sticky point and at this moment, has not gone anywhere other than negotiating a fee.

As well as that, Chelsea have made contact and started talks to sign former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz as a second possibly January signing this winter – news that came out of nowhere really.

So things have heated up a little bit in the world of transfers around Chelsea this winter. And there is another story and another Rennes player that Chelsea are interested in, giving us something else to write about this morning.

Chelsea looking at Meite

Rennes forward Mohamed Kader Meite has been linked with a move away from the French outfit, and several Premier League clubs are keen on him.

According to a TeamTalk report, the 18-year-old striker is on the list of Chelsea.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have apparently sent scouts to watch the rising star in action in recent weeks.

Another one to add to the list

Chelsea get linked with a new teenager every day, so here is another one to add to that list.  Maybe something comes of it, maybe not. Maybe he ends up at Strasbourg or something.

All we know for sure is that Chelsea are going to always be looking at the latest rising stars around world football and will try and get there first for most of them.
