Chelsea have been very careful to not infringe any UEFA rules in terms of their relationship with Strasbourg.

They want to keep things above board, especially given they’re already in trouble with European football’s governing body.

In the transfers between the two clubs they’ve been careful to keep the fees fair to avoid any claims of collusion (beyond that which is inherent in a multi-club system). It seems that goes for managers too.

Chelsea had to pay money from one pocket to another for new manager

According to Kieran Gill’s “Chelsea Confidential,” for the Daily Mail the Blues have paid a “market rate fee” to their sister club for new manager Liam Rosenior.

Given how much we’ve forked out in the past for coaching staff – both bringing them in and paying them off – we dread to think how much this might be. But given Rosenior wasn’t a big name and likely wasn’t on a huge contract, and given it doesn’t seem like a great number of his staff are joining him, the market fee is hopefully pretty reasonable.

In any case, it might be our biggest fee this January. Gill also notes that Chelsea aren’t expected to make major moves of any kind in the transfer market. Rosenior is just going to have to work with what he has already on the books at Stamford Bridge.

In other news…

Liam Delap scored his first Premier League goal last night, an enjoyable moment for Chelsea fans in an otherwise pretty rotten game. He spoke post-game about hitting some form now he’s fit.

Delap also claimed that Chelsea deserved more from the game at Craven Cottage, given how well they managed with ten men, and given the Fulham goals came from “nowhere.”
