One Chelsea player has found his confidence again according to a football pundit this week speaking after Chelsea’s draw with Manchester United.

The Blues drew 1-1 with United at Old Trafford on Sunday in a game that they really should have won because the home side were there for the taking.

However, there was some decent performances from one or two Chelsea players, namely Moises Caicedo who was absolutely superb in the middle of the park for Chelsea and also scored a really good goal.

Not all Chelsea players were good in this game though, but perhaps Romeo Lavia can also be highlighted as having a fair game alongside Caicedo in the middle of the park.

Lavia is keeping Enzo Fernandez out of the Chelsea starting lineup at the moment, at least for their league games. And this has led to the first rumours linking Fernandez to a move away from Chelsea.

Lavia and Caicedo playing well together

Pundit Micah Richards, who used to play for both Manchester City and England of course, believes that Lavia and Caicedo have a good partnership being built.

Speaking after the game on Sunday, Richards said:

“I thought Caicedo was outstanding today, I thought he ran the midfield. I thought Lavia was good as well.”

He continued: “I think he’s found his confidence, Caicedo, that we saw at Brighton. And I think that has coincided with Lavia coming into the team as well.

“Looks like they’ve got a really good partnership and they’ve got Enzo to come off the bench as well.

“I think tactically, watching Maresca, and you’ll know a little more than me, Gary, from his time at Leicester, but I really like what he does with his fullbacks, whether it be Gusto where it be Cucurela, where they sort of build up with a three and have a full back sorting playing the number 10 position.

“I thought Man United were there for the taking and Chelsea couldn’t really do enough to get the second and third goal.”
