Chelsea push for Manu Kone and Lamine Camara as Blues brace for Fernandez exit | OneFootball

Chelsea are working simultaneously on deals to sign Roma midfielder Manu Kone and AS Monaco's Lamine Camara, as the club brace for Enzo Fernandez's potential exit.

Chelsea are locked in talks with Manchester City over the sale of Fernandez,who could depart before tonight's deadline for a fee in the region of £120m.

Xabi Alonso's side are working in the background to sign a replacement and are 'close to an agreement' Roma for Kone. A fee of around £52m has been discussed with the Serie A side.

Issues could arise with Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini desperate to keep the Frenchman, admitting on Monday that he knew 'nothing about' transfer talks.

"Absolutely not, it is a media thing, I know nothing about it," Gasperini stated, as quoted byFootball Italia.

Sky Italy claim Gasperni's stance is a hurdle to overcome, despite talks are progressing. Roma negotiating a loan move to sign Jamie Gittens from Chelsea alongside the Kone discussions.

Chelsea also hold an interest in Monaco midfielder Camara. Chelseahave seen an offer of €45m (£38.5m) turned down for Camara, who is keen on the move.

Monaco view that bid as insufficient and are under no pressure to sell the Senegal international, after agreeing the €45m sale of Folarin Balogun to Everton.
