Chelsea have reached an agreement with Monaco to sign midfielder Lamine Camara, 22, according to RMC Sport.
The deal is understood to be worth 55m, and the Senegal international is set to sign a six-year contract with an option for a further year.
Monaco had not planned to sell Camara at the start of the day. On Monday they agreed a deal with Everton for Folarin Balogun, and in the early hours of deadline day the USMNT forward agreed terms with the Principality club. Late on Tuesday he failed a medical.
Monaco still needed to make a sale on deadline day. With Balogun’s move collapsing, Camara became the player earmarked to depart.
Erik Lira had been lined up as a replacement. However, his non-EU spot in the squad is occupied by Balogun, who failed to finalise a move away on deadline day.
