Chelsea sign Honest Ahanor from Atalanta, to arrive in 2027 | OneFootball

Chelsea have signed Italian international defender Honest Ahanor from Atalanta, with the 18-year-old to link up at Stamford Bridge in 2027 after a loan spell. Both clubs confirmed the agreement on Tuesday morning.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Ahanor will spend the 2026-27 season on loan at Crystal Palace, with Palace expected to confirm the move later today.

Ahanor made 35 appearances and scored one goal for Atalanta in 2025-26, his first campaign after joining from Genoa in July 2025.

He moved to Atalanta for around €20m last summer, becoming the second most expensive U17 Italian player after Pietro Pellegri.

His club form earned two senior Italy caps in June under caretaker coach Silvio Baldini. The Serie A transfer window closes today at 20:00 CET.
