Chelsea play their first home game of the 2026-27 campaign and hope to make it three wins from three in all competitions after victories over Fulham and Luton Town in the league and the Carabao Cup, respectively.

It's been a busy week for Chelsea, with Brighton's visit being the Blues' third game in seven days, which Chelsea will hope to finish in winning fashion to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.

They host Brighton, who are also full of confidence. Fabian Hürzeler's side have won their last two games, scoring four goals and keeping clean sheets in the process

Their record against the Blues is positive. Having been unbeaten in their first 10 Premier League games against Brighton (W6 D4), Chelsea have now lost five of their last eight against the Seagulls (W3).

Alonso will hope to put that right on Sunday afternoon, and the signing of Danny Welbeck from Brighton will be seen as bringing one of the main threats into their ranks. Welbeck, who begins on the bench against his former side, is the highest goalscorer in Chelsea versus Brighton matches in the league with six goals, four of which have come at Stamford Bridge.

Alonso's big decision has been who to start in goal after Robert Sanchez's errors against Fulham. Emi Martinez's arrival was confirmed ahead of the game, and he comes straight into the starting side to face Brighton. The writing now appears to be on the wall for Sanchez, with Alonso making his stance extremely clear. Mike Penders is on the bench, with Sanchez out of the squad.

Maxence Lacroix and Levi Colwill continue in defence for Chelsea after the Fulham win. Josh Acheampong impressed in the west London derby, but Wesley Fofana's return from suspension sees him back in the side.

Moises Caicedo returns but is only available from the bench. Enzo Fernandez is not in the squad. Romeo Lavia begins in midfield.

Jorrel Hato, Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto also start for the Blues.

Alonso continues with Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer in attack, as they look to add to their goal each from the Fulham victory.

Here are the confirmed teams in full for Chelsea against Brighton in the Premier League.
