Xabi Alonso has named his Chelsea side to face Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on September 9.

Chelsea host Daniel Farke’s side in west London on Wednesday night, as they eye progression into the fourth round.

A second round victory over Luton Town last month booked the Blues’ spot in round three, while Leeds knocked out Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Alonso’s side head into Wednesday’s tie following a loss to Arsenal in the league, ending their 100 per cent start to the campaign.

But Chelsea still maintain a perfect home record, which they will be hoping to continue when Leeds make the visit down south.

Chelsea head into the tie as favourites. They have also won 20 of their past 23 League Cup ties at Stamford Bridge, hoping to make it 21 wins from 24.

Against Luton, Alonso opted to ring the changes and he has done so again for the third round tie.

As expected, Mike Penders comes back into the side to replace Emiliano Martinez in goal. The young Belgian is likely to play all of Chelsea’s cup games as he continues his development after his return from his loan at Strasbourg.

Levi Colwill was an unused substitute against Arsenal. He comes into the starting side for the Blues, with Chelsea looking to claim just their second clean sheet of the season.

Starting in defence with Colwill, Josh Acheampong, Maxence Lacroix, Malo Gusto and Pep Chavarria have all been given the nod by Alonso.

Chelsea remain without Marco Palestra, Moises Caicedo, Jordan Henderson and Emmanuel Emegha - with all four looking to overcome fitness problems.

In midfield for the Blues 16-year-old Reggie Watson makes his professional debut, becoming Chelsea's fourth youngest player of all time, he is partnered by Valentin Barco.

Danny Welbeck leads the attack for the hosts, with Estevao and Jamie Gittens handed starts. Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro have all been benched, but will likely be called upon should they be required.

Here are the confirmed teams in full for Chelsea against Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.
