Chelsea look to maintain their unblemished Premier League record under Liam Rosenior as they host Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues have undergone a remarkable transformation under their new head coach. They have secured four consecutive top-flight victories against Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham, and Wolves. Currently fifth in the table, Chelsea sit just one point behind the top four following their dominant win at Molineux.
Leeds United also arrive in London with significant momentum. Daniel Farke’s men have won three of their last four matches to move nine points clear of the relegation zone. After a sensational 3–1 win over Chelsea in December, the Whites are now chasing a historic season double.
Liam Rosenior expects to remain without Jamie Gittens and Tosin Adarabioyo due to hamstring injuries. Dário Essugo and Roméo Lavia continue their recoveries from thigh problems, while Levi Colwill is a long-term absentee. However, Reece James could return to the squad after missing two matches. Cole Palmer enters the game in record-breaking form following his first-half hat-trick against Wolves.
Daniel Farke welcomes Daniel James and Lukas Nmecha back into contention for the trip to London. Midfielder Anton Stach appears to be the only likely absentee for the visitors. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to lead the line after scoring in the recent win over Nottingham Forest. Facundo Buonanotte may miss out again for tactical reasons following the return of other senior attackers.
The Blues have made Stamford Bridge a fortress in this fixture, remaining unbeaten in their last seven home league games against Leeds. Notably, Liam Rosenior has won all four of his Premier League matches since taking charge. A win tonight would make him the first Chelsea boss since Maurizio Sarri to win his first three home league games. However, Chelsea have failed to win any of their three midweek Premier League fixtures this season.
Leeds have moved significantly clear of the drop zone following a vital run of form under Daniel Farke. Notably, the Whites are seeking their first league double over the Blues since their 1991–92 title-winning season. Farke has lost just two of his last 12 top-flight matches with the club. While their overall away record has been difficult, Leeds arrive having won three of their last four league outings.
