According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the London club is preparing a contract extension for the 27-year-old Spanish full-back, who is currently under contract until 2028. This is a clear sign that the club’s leadership sees him as a key figure in their long-term project.

Since joining from Brighton in 2022, Cucurella has established himself as a key component of the London club’s system last season. His consistency and experience make him a cornerstone on the left flank. The arrival of Jorrel Hato (aged 19) is intended more to boost competition and prepare for the future.
