It’s been another disappointing season for Chelsea, and following Saturday’s FA Cup final defeat against Manchester City they are unlikely to play in Europe next season.

Chelsea face a crucial summer with the Blues needing to make serious reinforcements in several key areas of the squad.

Ben Jacobs believes Chelsea will sign two or three experienced players

The Blues have made their first major move with a deal agreed for Xabi Alonso to become their next manager, with a four year contract said to be agreed.

It’s been reported Alonso will be officially announced on Sunday morning, with players believed to be excited by his imminent arrival.

Alonso has been given the title of manager rather than head coach, which suggests he’ll have more control than Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior.

With Alonso now in place, Chelsea face a critical summer and must back him with quality signings, and Jacobs has provided an update.

“Chelsea will sign two-three experienced ready players this summer,” he told Kings Of The Bridge YouTube channel.

“They still like Morgan Rogers, with one of the priorities being a creative left-sided player.

“Chelsea may also look at a striker, depending on what happens there with existing players, as well as other areas.”
