Chelsea have confirmed that Mathis Amougou has made a permanent switch to RC Strasbourg, another club under the BlueCo ownership group.

The young defender only joined the Blues from Saint-Étienne in January for a fee in the region of £12 million, but saw limited game time - making just two appearances, one in the Premier League and the other in the Europa Conference League, under Enzo Maresca.

Now, just a few months later, Amougou returns to France in a move believed to be worth around £12.5 million.

Strasbourg, also backed by BlueCo, have tied the 19-year-old down to a deal running until 2030.
