L’Équipe first revealed Manchester City’s interest in Chelsea defender Malo Gusto (23) earlier this month. Foot Mercato now report that the France international has agreed to join Manchester City

The France international, picked in Didier Deschamps’ FIFA World Cup squad, has been the subject of a recent enquiry from Manchester City, who, next season, are expected to be managed by former Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca. The Italian’s appointment has not yet been confirmed, although Pep Guardiola’s departure has.

Last season, Gusto played 49 games for Chelsea in all competitions. The Olympique Lyonnais academy product has found himself in competition with Reece James for a place in the team.

He could now be set to depart and link back up with Maresca. Foot Mercato understands that Gusto has held talks with Manchester City and has agreed to a move. However, the Cityzens would still have to find an agreement with Chelsea who, as per Fabrizio Romano, value the Frenchman, who is under contract until 2030, at £75m.
