Following their disappointing play-off exit to Puebla last weekend, Chivas are already looking to overhaul their squad ahead of the 2022 Clausura.
One the the players who most disappointed for the Flock in the Apertura was winger Uriel Antuna.
The former LA Galaxy loanee arrived in Guadalajara with big expectations two years ago, but has failed to replicate his fine international form for Mexico at club level.
As a result, Fox Sports are reporting that Chivas are eyeing a move for Alejandro Zendejas from Necaxa.
It would represent an admission of a prior mistake by Los Rojiblancos having allowed Zendejas join Los Rayos on a free transfer in June 2020.
While Necaxa missed out on the Liguilla, the Ciudad Juárez native nevertheless shined by scoring six goals and providing two assists in playing every minute of his side’s 17 games.
That compares more than favourably to Antuna’s stats, as he registered no goals or assists in making nine starts and five appearances as a substitute.
Zendejas is under contract for another two years at the Estadio Victoria, and is valued at $3.3m (according to Transfermarkt).
