Chivas have confirmed that Ronaldo Cisneros has been cleared to continue playing professionally.
Medical tests carried out before pre-season training began indicated that the 24-year-old striker had heart issues that could have ended his career.
On Saturday, the club released an official statement on the matter.
“During the rigorous tests prior to the start of the preseason, the player registered some warning signs in the stress test,” the statement said.
“Immediately, the club’s sports sciences area took the proper precautions and actions, as it does with any of its players and more in special cases like this one, and coordinated a thorough medical scrutiny to rule out any issue of greater care.
“The process included consultations with specialists in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Spain, in addition to the performance of multiple echoes, resonances and tests, the results of which were always encouraging.”
The club say they also consulted top American sports cardiologist, Dr Matthew Martínez, who “issued a positive advice to give the ‘fit to train and play’, a verdict that was delivered in writing to the striker himself, who even already participated in Chivas’ training on Friday, June 25.”
Cisneros was on the fringes of the Flock’s squad during Guard1anes 2021, making just five appearances (four as a substitute) in their 17 regular season games.
