Though Marco Fabián elected to go to Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union instead of Chivas for the 2019 season, the 30-year-old will be targeted by the Mexican giants once again in the upcoming transfer window.

With Fabián’s current contract expiring at the end of the year, Chivas would be able to land their former midfielder for absolutely nothing in January if Philadelphia do not pick up their two-year club option.

With the Union this season, Fabián has scored seven goals and added an assist in 23 games in a campaign full of injuries, suspensions, and missed games due to international call-ups.

Fabián graduated from the Chivas academy and made his first-team debut in the Apertura 2007 season, starring for Guadalajara until 2013.

After spending 2014 on loan at Cruz Azul, Fabián returned to Chivas for the 2015 campaigns before leaving for Eintracht Frankfurt in a $4m deal.

In nine-and-a-half years at Chivas, Fabian made 232 appearances in all competitions, scoring 57 goals and contributing 36 assists.
